Pebble Hill Plantation is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a two-day plein air artist's workshop with nature artist Deborah LaFogg Docherty of Boynton Beach, Florida. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to strengthen their skills in plein air pastel drawing with one of the regions award-winning photorealistic painters. Combining her two loves of nature and painting, Deb brings to life her artwork with vibrant color and exquisite detail. She has been studying wildlife in its natural habitat since she was a child on her family’s farm in Connecticut and has mastered her artistic expression in plein air technique and form.

1-on-1 Testimonials

I just want to say that Deb Lafogg is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

Learning pastels was daunting until I took her class-she is a genius herself and she shares her skill with all of us in a positive and encouraging way.I feel so lucky to have had the experience and knowing her.

I met Deb LaFogg 5 years ago at an Arts and Craft Fair in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and was immediately impressed with, and in awe of her ability to create realistic pastel paintings of Nature. I signed up for her weekly art lessons, and my friends and family have been amazed by my progress in creating realistic pastels.

Anyone who wishes to improve his or her artistic skills would be rewarded by joining her group lesson classes. Deb is a pleasure to work with and is an excellent teacher.

I enjoyed taking your pastels class very much.  I learned a lot about pastels technique and the tools needed to complete a work.

I hope to attempt some more pictures this summer. I really enjoy portraying animals most of all. Thank you so much for all of your help.  I plan to take your class in person during one of the winter sessions when I am in Delray.

I still have a little work to do on the clouds painting which I found not only very challenging but also very helpful in understanding how to paint clouds.
